Learn how to free yourself from anxieties with these 8 easy steps

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

Ok, that headline is total click bait. SORRY. You can't rid yourself from anxiety with 8 easy steps. But if you are struggling with anxiety there are a ton of easy steps that may HELP, and combined together with time and self care, you may feel way better than you currently do. No system exists to rid yourself of anxiety, it doesn't work like that. But, you can change your relationship with anxiety, and you can learn a bunch of tips to manage it. The thing all the steps have in common is work. If you want to improve your mental health it takes work, lots of it.

Here is my go to recommendations on anxiety management

Identify what triggers your anxiety and navigate around it as realistically as you can

Cut out toxic people

Spend time with people who understand what its like to have anxiety

Eat healthy

Try yoga

See a psychologist (not a general family doctor)

Listen to podcasts on the topic (there are tons)

Talk about it

Stop drinking and doing drugs (I know, LAME)

Be kind to yourself and have patience

Use medications (get them from a Psychiatrist, not a GP, and make that the very last step)

This is just a small sample of things that worked for me, it is by no means a comprehensive list. Even if you did all of these things tomorrow, your anxiety won't go away. It is a part of you, like a scar. Stop trying to run away from it, that's like throwing gas on a fire. Its better to focus on the long term and change your relationship with anxiety, recognize that its a part of you. If you can do that, than you will start feeling better slowly. One day, you might find that anxiety is not a debilitating thing for you any longer and life is a litter easier.
